Award winning artist opens gallery at Riverside:

In 2001, Che Vincent and friends transformed the old cottage at Riverside, and its gardens, into what we now call the cafe - creating the intriguing landscaping, impressive metal sculptures, and giant glowing fish (hanging in the dining room); and helping the cafe to win several awards over the years (including best rural regional restaurant in 2010).

Che has now opened a gallery just a 30 second stroll from the cafe gardens - you'll see the gateway and path to the gallery as you enter the cafe gardens. The gallery is open the same hours as the cafe, or by private arrangement with the artist. Feel free to wander over and enjoy Che's intriguing metal sculputes. Most pieces are available for purchase. For the kids

Pony rides all summer long...Saturdays from 12.30-2.30

...and visit our kunekune pigs, Amanda and Rosita in the paddock near the cafe entrance. They enjoy delicious scraps from the kitchen, and we think they're some of the best fed pets ever!

Kids also enjoy the goldfish pond and tiny stream, the willow playhouse that grows a little every day, and the sandpit and slide.

And we have a shop at the cafe that sells seasonal items and Riverside honey, pickles, jams and crafts, and other locally made items. A variety of plants are also for sale.
