Hello to Riverside Cafe loyal customers and friends!

We are very excited to be running this beautiful cafe and look forward to meeting you all.

It is great to be working alongside the Riverside Community as we have always had a deep appreciation for local food and sustainable food practices. We have lived in this area for the past six years and feel so blessed to raise our family in such an enriching and abundant community.

On Thursday we are opening to the public with a brand new menu along with fresh housemade lunch items and cakes.

Dearest Customers,Big changes are coming up for our beautiful Riverside Cafe!

After 16 years of successfully operating our iconic cafe, Riverside Community Trust Board has decided to lease the business to two very special people, who may not be members of our community, but who are just as passionate about 'bringing people together' as we are. Local chef Aaron together with his wife Yara and their family are excited and looking forward to providing all customers with memorable experiences and to continue Riverside Cafe's tradition as an extraordinary and enchanted space to meet others and indulge. In case you want to farewell Riverside Community's 'dream team', who have been working tirelessly in the front of house or in the kitchen in the past years, you better come in before the 10th October. Charles, Kathy, Franka, Ayumi & Co will soon have a well deserved break before they delve into new adventures.... The last day of Riverside Cafe's current management will be Sunday, 9th October. The Cafe will then be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (10th, 11th & 12th October). Aaron and Yara will reopen the Cafe's door to the public from Thursday, 13th October.

We would like to officially thank our loyal customers, staff and suppliers who have supported us over all these years. It's has been great to work for and with you.

We wish all the best to Aaron, Yara and their family and are looking forward to meeting up and indulging at Riverside Cafe very soon!

Our ponies and the Pauls family are retiring from the cafe business!

Sunday, 25th September is their last day of 'work' - so come on into the cafe between 2pm and 4pm to have some treats and say goodbye.

Many Thanks to Tanja, Soley and Faline (and their lovely ponies) for all their effort, time and the many smiles in the past few years. It's been great to have you around on Sundays, and we will miss you!

Delight in creating your own bonsai. Che Vincent will guide you through the practical and aesthetic aspects of creating your very own bonsai tree from retail nursery material.

This course will be held among the spectacular plants in the gardens of the Riverside Café at Riverside Community.

On-going support and contact is welcomed through Che’s Facebook forum “Hard Wired Bonsai”.

Course fee of $110 includes instruction ($60) and a potted tree, inclusive of wire and soil ($50).

Che Vincent lives and works as sculptor and landscape designer at Riverside Community. A keen gardener from an early age, Che started growing bonsai as a teen in the 1980s. He has grown a range of traditional bonsai species and more recently experimented widely with a range of New Zealand native trees with some promising results. He now has a large collection of trees and a nursery full of plants in various stages of development. In the Japanese summer of 2015 Che spent time on a Bonsai Nursery in Kagawa prefecture were he gained valuable insight into the cultural practices employed in the creation of bonsai and the culture of the industry itself.
